Walking around NYC today, I reacted to every person I passed wearing Red Sox paraphernalia. "Boston in 4," I cried, as I crossed the street passing a paraplegic person in an electric wheel chair; to which he replied, "Ya, ya." and then hit the drive button on his motorized chair and sped by me.
It seemed too antagonistic to wear anything with the Red Sox insignia on it but I commend those who did.
Yes, my loyalties are to my home team. It's a birthright one cannot experience unless they have lived in New England and shared in the communal losses of past Pennants and World Series.
