Made with Love

I ventured into a yarn store yesterday and purchased basic supplies for my new interest. The store owner welcomed me to "the cult." Too bad she dissuaded me from purchasing the yarn that had different strand widths and colors, for concern I would not know how well my stitches were coming out. Perfection, however, is not my primary preoccupation.

After rolling balls of yarn, I decided to relearn how to knit with aid of a few YouTube videos. My dad had taught me how to knit as a child. During WW II Dad's elementary school teacher had her students knit scarves for her boyfriend who was in the military.

"Gavino" can't believe that I'm practicing something that he associates with his 94-year old grandmother and predicts the following:
1. I will keep up with this activity for no more than a week before the supplies find there way under the couch, never to be seen again.
2. I will never wear my creations.

While my joints are feeling a bit stiff and tennis elbow is setting in, I'm hopeful and ambitious for the creations I will knit. Listening to ambient trance music really adds to the experience.

Here is how much I've worked on in the past few hours:
