A Year Defined by Google Searches


2008 produced some substantive and frivolous Google searches. Politics clearly dominated our curiosity, with the exception of searches for Health Ledger and Miley Cyrus. There is no explanation for the spike in searches for sites related to the life and art of Marc Chagell, but for the marking of his 121st birthday in July. The Slate article from which this graph originates asks if Obama was the story of the year.
