Man on Wire

Man on Wire is a solid documentary about the passion and daring of a tightrope walker who pulled off an unthinkable stunt. The reigns of social control and conformity, under the guise of "security," have tightened around public and private spaces since Philip Pettit and his motley crew set up a tightrope between the Twin Towers and crossed it, over thirty-five years ago. But the real luxury of this film is that it affords viewers the chance to meditate on the WTC with a sense of innocence and promise rather than on its demise.
