Recently I attended a working group meeting at the Gay Men's Health Crisis center. The center has been providing a full range of services to people living with AIDS (PLWA) since the onset of the epidemic. Seeing so many people physically ravaged by AIDS hit me. Working on media campaigns related to HIV and AIDS has become quite an abstraction; unlike the work of health care workers who provide direct outreach and intervention everyday.
