Okay, I cried when I watched this documentary. And sang along to the songs. Thank God, Kim Gordan of Sonic Youth gives the Carpenters more cool credibility.

I still remember learning of Karen Carpenter's death while driving through Albany, NY, on my way to Massachusetts from Ithaca, NY. The driver was a Beatles fan.

Alone in my bedroom, I used to harmonize songs with Karen. We shared a lonliness.
