Italian Government collapses
Galvino is upset tonight. Very upset.
I broke the news to him that Romano Prodi has resigned as Prime Minister of Italy after losing a vote of confidence from the Parliament. His coalition party teetered on a two point lead over Berlusconi's right-winged "Freedom" party. After a scandal hit, calling into question a Justice minister whose two parliament seats represented Prodi's lead, the accused Justice's party refused to back Prodi in a parliament vote of confidence.
